Introduction
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars is the latest entry in Capcom's Versus series of fighting games. This title is an update from the earlier Japanese version, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes (CGoH). Originally released in Japanese arcades on December 11th, 2008, CGoH marked the first time the Capcom team faced off against characters from the Tatsunoko universe, rather than the Marvel universe, which many players were familiar with from the Marvel vs. Capcom series.
Fans of the Marvel vs. Capcom games will find much of the gameplay familiar, with the return of mechanics like super jumping, air combos, and advanced guarding. However, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom introduces new elements as well, such as the "Baroque" system, which allows players to extend combos in creative ways.
The Ultimate All-Stars (UAS) edition of the game, released globally in January 2010, brought several updates and enhancements. This version added five new characters (three from the Tatsunoko side and two from the Capcom side), online Wi-Fi battles, two additional color options for each character, and a bonus shooting game. Characters from the original roster were also adjusted, with some receiving minor tweaks and others seeing more significant changes in their gameplay, either being improved or nerfed.
It's worth noting that CGoH was initially not expected to see a release outside of Japan. However, due to strong fan demand and the efforts of individuals like Seth Killian, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars was eventually brought to international audiences. Unfortunately, to facilitate this release, one character, Hakusho Daimao, had to be removed.
Let's dive into the guide and explore everything this exciting and enjoyable fighter has to offer! ^_^
