Terminology

A brief overview of terms commonly used within the TvC Wiki and Community itself:

Term Description
Ai-Chan Government name for Yatterman-2
AIR CAR The level 1 super that Tekkaman uses in the air when riding PEGAS.
Baroque/BBQ The Roman Cancel of TvC. If your character has any red life, you can cancel any non-super move by pressing an attack button and the partner button (e.g., Light + Partner). This action resets your character back to neutral, allowing you to perform a new action. It also refreshes your double jump and air dash. This is also referred to as BBQ.
Baroque Unblockable Plinking Baroque with an attack with fast startup causes it to come out in zero frames, meaning any character who isn't in block animation cannot block it.
Bridge Break On the stage "Uncharted Region of China", any character that causes the bridge to crack (Casshan, Alex, Giants, Ippatsuman) adds to a counter. When the match is under 30 seconds and the bridge cracks 6 times, it breaks. TvC players often make this a sub-objective during a fight, despite its impracticality.
Burst/Megacrash With two bars of meter, pressing all four buttons will trigger a burst, pushing your opponent away from you.
Burst Bait The tactic of using Baroque or a burst-safe move to block or avoid the opponent's burst and then punish them.
C.Joe/V.Joe Since there are two characters named Joe (Condor Joe and Viewtiful Joe), they are often referred to as C.Joe (Condor Joe) or V.Joe (Viewtiful Joe) to avoid confusion.
COME ON The voice clip that plays when Alex does VAR, this becomes spammable when doing his VAR movement tech
Cosplay To use another prominent player's team (colors and all).
Gan Chan Government name for Yatterman-1
Giants/Gigantes Refers to the giant characters in TvC, exclusive to this game. There are only two giant characters: PTX and Gold Lightan. When you pick a giant, you fly solo and cannot tag out, but you will have perpetual giant armor.
Grifted The act of throwing out a hail mary super and subsequently landing it.
Hell0 Timeout Popularized by the player Hell0, who consistently brought matches to a timeout despite TvC being a rather aggressive game. The term is used when someone gets a timeout in TvC.
Oni Mode Win The long standing (and completely true) belief that if Soki won a match without using Oni Mode then he didn't really win anything at all
PEGAS The machine that Tekkaman rides on.
PIZZA TIME A reference to Karas' level 3 super, popularized by KBeast's texture pack, which featured the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles eating pizza instead of the moon.
Psycho Crusher A reference to Ippatsuman's sonic boom attack of which nobody can remember what it's actually called
The Robot Omotchama, part of Yatterman-2's level 1 super. On occasion this can be in reference to Ippatsuman's level 3, but no, "The Robot" usually refers to the demon spawn that is Omotchama
Seven Golden Letters Reference to the "PERFECT" win screen when getting a perfect
Small Character Privilege

Small Body Privilege
In fighting games, smaller characters often require specialized combos or setups. In TvC, this applies to Roll. Viewtiful Joe also has this to some extent, but most combos still work on him.
SPACE LANCE A humorous callback to the English dub of Tekkaman. as well as a youtube recreation of what he'd sound like in TvC
Teknoman An alternative name for Tekkaman Blade, in refrence to the English Localization from the 90s.
Trash Ball Doronjo's Level 1 Super.
VAR (Variable Air Raid) With one meter stocked, if you are airborne, you can input 236P. Your character will turn blue, and if the hitbox of your character touches the opponent (whether they are blocking or not), you will tag in a new character. The tagged-in character will receive a damage and meter boost until they touch the ground.
Waluigi/Wario As Tatsunoko is not well known in the West, Doronjo's henchmen are occasionally referred to as Waluigi or Wario due to their resemblance to these Nintendo characters.
