Possibly the most iconic Marvel superhero of all time, Spider-Man hardly needs an introduction. Spider-Man hasn't missed a Marvel game where he's been eligible, and he didn't intend to start now. When New York science nerd high school student Peter Parker gets bit by a radioactive spider on a field trip, he ends up unexpectedly gaining the proportional speed and strength of a spider, as well as the ability to stick to walls in order to climb them. Depending on the mythos, he also either gains the ability to spin webs, or uses his scientific know-how to develop web fluid shooting devices he wears on his wrists. A down-on-his luck guy just trying to get by, Peter has to find time to defend New York City from all manner of villains while keeping his identity secret.

Spider-Man shoots two balls of webbing at the opponent. The LP version travels somewhat slower than the HP version, and the LP version captures the opponent for less than half the time of the HP version. Both versions have the same travel paths; horizontally when fired from the ground, and at a 45-degree angle down-forward when fired from the air. Spider-Man jumps back some when firing the air versions, with the HP version making him jump back much higher.
