Introduction

Heroine of Vaeternus

"Nitara's race of vampires hails from the dark and desolate realm of Vaeternus. To survive, they evolved the ability to feed on the blood of other creatures. The Vaeternians thrived, guiding a great society. But as their comfort grew, so did their shortsightedness. They overfed on Vaeternus' creatures, disrupting the natural order. They now starve as it collapses. It is Nitara's solemn obligation to deliver her people from hunger and save her race. Vaeternus must survive."

Nitara is a Pixie/Glass Cannon vampiress who boasts the lowest base health in the game (900 HP) as a trade-off for increased mobility and mixup options. Although her grounded neutral game may be weaker and/or more “stubby” with less reward, she has several grounded normals that put her in an airborne state allowing for cancels into aerial options such as Mid/Overhead starters. Air Dash (direction + Flip Stance) allows her to move freely in any 1 of 8 directions while in an airborne state (with each consecutive dash costing 1 bar of meter), allowing for further mobility and mixup potential; Nitara can also cancel into Air Dash after any airborne normal or string for 1 bar, increasing both her pressure and mixup potential. Her (Air) DB4 is a fast divekick that provides a meterless launcher and becomes safe when Enhanced. Her Blood Sacrifice (DF4) allows her to defy the limitations of low health/dmg by risking a very small amount of health in order to enhance certain special moves, drain/regain health from the opponent, and/or greatly increase her overall dmg output.

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Fly By Night: Nitara's aerial mobility is unmatched, with an 8-way airdash she can turn into a launching divekick at any moment;
  • Ups and Downs: her aerial options can create ghetto strike/throw mixups by landing into an empty Throw
  • Blood Drain: Nitara can overcome her main weakness if she can steal enough health from her opponent, giving her a high potential health pool if played right.
  • Anemic: 900 HP puts her with Quan Chi at the absolute lowest base health value in the game.
  • Mainly high starters
