Introduction

Princess of Outworld

”Kitana has one purpose in life: to aid and protect her older sister, Mileena, as she prepares to rule Outworld one day. The steady-handed Kitana ignores the calls of those who advocate that she should replace her impulsive sister as heir. Instead, Kitana will defend the realm by fighting to make Mileena the best Empress possible. She will also fight to hide the dark secret that could end her sister's reign before it begins.”

Kitana is a Zoner/Setplay kombatant that excels at playing neutral/footsies with close-range fan normals and advancing attacks (as well various projectiles/setups) that allow her to whiff-punish, anti-air, and pressure the opponent to open them up for extensive (sometimes unbreakable) kombos and/or ultimately knock them back to play keepaway; some of her tools include a safe jab stagger with fast Mid confirm and slow Low knockdown options (S11/S14), two fast advancing Mids (F1/B2), a safe advancing Low (B3), a disjointed Sweep (B4), and various dial-in strings. Her EX DF2 armor reversal can convert into juggles with certain Kameo assists and is unbreakable on the first hit. Square Wave (DB2) can be used while grounded/airborne to quickly advance fullscreen and is cancellable into aerial Summons; the EX version can also cancel into aerial specials and is unbreakable on its first use. Fan Toss (BF1) is a High projectile that becomes a directable Mid launch when Enhanced, while (Air) Fan Toss remains a regular High projectile with the same Enhanced launch; her Reverse Fan Toss (air DB3) and Fancy Flick (DB3) also provide additional projectile options that can launch when Enhanced or meterlessly extend juggle kombos. Fan-Nado (DB1) is a directable launcher that throws her fan to hit the opponent, which can also be performed in-air along with various other projectiles to further extend kombos. Wind Bomb (BDF4) is a directable trap setup that launches on hit, with a Low option (BDF4 Squall) that can send the projectile advancing forward.
