|description=Hilde's short range, unsafe step catcher. It tech crouches early and continues tech crouching until after the impact frame, making it great for counter hitting high attacks. If she has sword regalia, she can use the A+B extension for big damage and spear regalia (Combo: CA6.A+B, CB5). The extension cannot be hit confirmed, though, and it leaves her backturned at -14 on block. She can hit confirm for counter hit on the unextended version. On counter hit it is +16, which combos into 2A+B, for oki, SWR 3K.A, for wall splats and ring outs, CE, for big damage, and Soul Attack, for spear and a plus entry into soul charge. | |||

|description=A powerful long range move that does a nice chunk of damage and is barely minus on block. This is her whiff punisher for when she doesn't want to commit with a CB6. It's safe on block, unlike CB6, and it has fast whiff recovery, also unlike CB6. This also makes it safe to throw out as a somewhat quick poke at longer ranges. | |||

The body attack property is very important as it lets her have a horizontal poke that can beat anti slashing auto GI's such as Kilik's Monument and Siegfried's Base Hold. Introduction
Hilde is a complicated movement based character in SoulCalibur VI, with a strong emphasis on whiff punishing, and she is the only charge character in the entire game.

Unique Mechanics
Regalia Arts
Hilde has access to a powerup mechanic called Regalia Arts, separated by her sword and her spear. The Regalia states are primarily gained by landing a hit with a negative edge move for that respective weapon. When powered up by a Regalia, her sword will glow reddish-orange, and her spear will glow blue: this will also be indicated by her unique UI element. Gaining a Regalia while already powered up instead grants a chunk of meter. Regalia can be spent by performing Regalia Arts, attacks only accessible in the respective Regalia states.
Charge
Being the only charge character in the game, Hilde has access to charge attacks on both the A and B buttons. The A or B button must be held for at least one second, then released to perform her charge attacks. If either button is held for at least 30 seconds, the cA4/cB4 versions become unblockable and gain a significant damage increase.
See Strategy for a full strategy breakdown.
