Introduction

Though Mitsurugi has a reputation as a basic, well-balanced character, he brings some new tricks to the table in Soulcalibur VI. His new Relic iaido stance provides some new mixup options as well as a way to express his hatred for projectiles. He also bears a new powerup mechanic, Shura Blade, which unlocks some upgrades to a few moves.

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Strong neutral pokes with solid range
  • Effective lows
  • Solid backstep
  • Limited horizontal pokes
  • Many unsafe attacks
  • Very slow sidestep

Unique Mechanics

Shura Blade

After landing his Critical Edge (or certain other attacks) in a round, Mitsurugi powers up his sword with the new Shura Blade buff. This buff gives him access to a few new attacks, including a new very powerful i12 knockdown mid, 236B+K. Shura Blade, once unlocked, will last until the end of the round.
