Story

I love fighting. I love being an earthbender, and I'm really, really good at it.

Toph Beifong is a young master of the Earthbending arts, Fierce and direct with a passion for fighting. Despite her blindness she possesses the ability to visualize the movements and positions of opponents through even the most subtle vibrations of the earth. You wouldn't wanna get your world shaken when this earthbender enters the brawl.

Gameplay

Toph is a heavy hitter who has a strong ground game but is weaker in the air. Like any Earthbender, Toph performs best when grounded; dominating opponents with far reaching attacks and heavy blows. She has two zoning options in the chargeable Boulder Hurl and the Clay Warrior that can sneak beneath the surface and spring up where an opponent isn't expecting it to be.

Despite being weaker in the ground, she has the unique ability to create a platform anywhere in the air when using Iron Boot while airborne; though it is limited to one platform per-airtime. Combined with her far reaching attacks, this makes her one of the deadliest edge-guarding characters out of the entire roster!

If hitting hard with a deceptive reach is how you want to play, then Toph is the character for you!

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Unparalleled Edgeguarding: Her mid-air platforms not only allow her to chase opponents off stage and still keep all of the power she has while grounded. This combined with Wall Slam makes an imposing threat for anyone recovering from almost any angle. Her recovery Boulder Surge also sends a moving hitbox downwards that can easily spike opponents recovering low without having to commit to going deep
  • Power of an Earthbender: As stated above, her archetype is being strong while grounded and devestating with big damage and big hitboxes that slower members of the cast might find hard to escape.
  • "Yeah! Let's break some rules!": Her full charge boulder is unique in that it is the only projectile that cannot be reflected or grabbed, which makes it a very effective neutral tool, and kill option.
  • Catch me if you can!: She has the fastest ground speed in the game, which allows her to run in and out of threat ranges and control the pace of a game.
  • You're no air fighter: Due to her having the worst air-strongs in the game, she struggles to kill without Boulder
