Story

I'm READY!!!

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SpongeBob SquarePants! From the series of the same name, SpongeBob is a happy-go-lucky sea sponge who is always ready for his next big adventure!

Gameplay

SpongeBob is an all-rounder character designed to be beginner friendly with fairly balanced attributes across the board. He has relatively quick attacks that could favor a rushdown playstyle along with a slow moving projectile that can cover a wide area of the stage. His recovery also sends him flying high up vertically which enables him to go deep off stage to secure the KO.

If you're new to the platform fighting genre and want a character that's easy to pick up and play, or if you're a veteran looking to learn the ropes of NASB's playstyle, this is one sponge you'll absolutely clean up with!

  • Good Recovery: Up special sends him straight up high. Combined with double jump and air dash, Spongebob can go deep off stage to secure a stock and still recover
  • Solid Projectile: Bubble Blow sends out a slow moving projectile that travels far across the stage, forcing your opponent to react to it one way or another .
  • Combo Game: SpongeBob’s scaling hitstun allows him to find combos on nearly all of his light attacks and kill confirms that continue to work past very high %s unlike the majority of the cast.
  • Bring it Arouuuuund Town!: SpongeBob is an excellent all-rounder character, with tools to cover just about any situation.
  • Disjoints: SpongeBob does not have a reliable disjoint unlike other characters in the cast. As such there are times where he has to work his way in to win neutral.
  • Barnacles!: SpongeBob is a middleweight, which means he can be combo'd by a lot of the cast but doesn't live as long as a heavyweight.
