Gameplay

Aang is a character with some of the best mobility in the entire game that can easily facilitate either a rushdown or hit-and-run playstyle. Like Leonardo his attacks are low in damage, but those numbers add up as he specializes in barraging opponents with extremely quick attacks. Aang specifically excels in aerial combos and keeping his foes from touching the ground. He has one of the most unique Strong Up attacks out of the roster in Rising Wind Kick, allowing him to quickly reposition diagonally and can easily start an air combo with its low endlag. His Neutral Special Spinning Staff is also free ledge trapping option, and if Aang is above 100% the move is converted to Avatar State, turning it into an AOE attack all around him.

If you long for mastery of all four elements as well as total stage control and confounding opponents as to where you'll show up next, Aang will bring balance to your matches!

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Ride Like The Wind!: As stated above, Aang has arguably the best mobility out of the entire cast, rivaled only by Danny Phantom's jumping ability. His Aerial Strong attacks keep him up in the air which is useful for recovering horizontally, his recovery Air Glide allows him to gently coast back down to the ground and freely move in the air (Smash players can liken this recovery to Mr. Game & Watch), and his Down Special Air Ball gives him unmatched ground speed, allowing him to zip backwards and forwards indefinitely as long as he doesn't touch an opponent.
  • Avatar State: When Aang is above 100% his Neutral Special changes from Spinning Staff to Avatar State, which does 20% in a bubble all around him. It has relatively low knockback but can be an excellent combo ender and be used to quickly even the odds if you're at a percent deficit
