Welcome to the Pokken Tournament DX wiki!

Notation
Notations in Pokken are useful to get familiarized with when first starting to look more into the game.
Whether it would be discussing the use of Mewtwo's 8Y, or how to decipher Blaziken's 5[A] > 2X > !W > j.Y > ]X[ combo.
Pokken's notations are all based on the default controls:

- Y = Weak/Light Button
- X = Strong/Heavy Button
- A = Pokemon/Special Button
- B = Jump (Commonly referred to "j." for short to describe aerial moves)
- R = Block/Shield/Guard
- L = Support Pokemon
- X+A = Counter Attack
- Y+B = Grab
- L+R = Burst Attack
Additional Notations:
- [ ] = A hold motion for a button
- ] [ = A charge and release motion for a button
- ~ = Cancel
- : = Just Frame
Numpad Notation:
Pokken is one of the many fighting games that use a numpad system in order to describe moves, combos, etc.
A simple explanation would be by looking at the numpad on a standard keyboard.
8 is up, 2 is down, 6 is forwards, and 4 is backwards.
This system allows for simple explanations even when there are language barriers.
(All directions are assuming the player is facing right.)

Field Phase Notation:
Because of Pokken's two phases, numpad notation is commonly used to refer to Duel Phase moves.
While Field Phase has Its own notations:
- n = Neutral
- s = Side
- f = Forward
- b = Backward
