The oblivious and dramatic hero of toast in powder form! Powdered Toast Man is a hero of godly proportions, able to shoot high-velocity raisins from his mouth, hyper corrosive croutons from his armpits, a phone tongue, and most importantly of all, being able to create Powdered Toast! By joining the brawl he is able to spread the word of wonderful Powdered Toast, he'll beat the competition so bad you won't even notice that Powdered Toast literally tastes like sawdust!

Gameplay

Powdered Toast Man is the hardest hitting character in the game. His neutral and down air-strongs in particular are absolutely devastating and apply significant pressure. He's also quite fast and boasts a shine that he can use for combos, out of block, and to a limited extent, block pressure. His croutons are an interesting projectile that can do significant damage and combo into other moves in his kit. He also famously has access to the famous "Devious Lick" combo, though it's now far less devious post-nerf. PTM is known for his incredibly threatening air-control, powerful scrapping ability, and his general aura that can make opponents panic. If you're a fan of shines, pressing buttons, and hitting hard, Powdered Toast Man is probably for you, so long as you can get past being big and combo food.

Strengths

Weaknesses

Shine: His Armored Crust is THE fastest move in the game, coming out Frame 2. Shine can be confirmed into a grab on the ground on all DI's, and any of his strong aerials on no DI and DI in. It uniquely can also be confirmed into out of an aerial grab drop, making his grab game extremely threatening. The move is also jump-cancellable, which can lead to some (albeit punishable if your opponent recognizes the situation) block pressure. Momentum Cancel: The shine can also be used out of hitstun to halt his air momentum. You can also mash shine during combos to break out if your opponent isn't airtight with their punishes, which can potentially lead to a reversal. Kill Power: Powdered Toast Man has no issue killing opponents at most percents. Light characters in particular can struggle against PTM due to his raw kill-power and oppressive aerial down-strong. Damage Output: PTM's combos work pretty much universally regardless of weight. Fully charged croutons deal 30%, meaning PTM has no issue racking on damage. Speed: He's the 5th fastest grounded character and one of the fastest fallers. Combined, his movement stats can make him very difficult to keep up with, especially if you don't have access to good hitboxes.

Toast Is Done: His recovery is REALLY bad, so bad that he should be dead pretty much every time he's offstage. Horrible Disadvantage State: Minus shine, PTM has no reliable tools to get out of disadvantage. Being big and heavy is a pretty bad combination of stats in Nick Brawl. Many characters can kill PTM in just as few interactions as it takes him to kill them. Meh Neutral: None of his buttons are safe on block save for shine. Croutons are a nice tool to have, but all of his approach options are very committal meaning he relies on reads to get an opening. No Range: Save for croutons, PTM has no way to apply pressure or attack from a distance.

The classic punching rapid jab, but gloriously half-assed in PTM fashion. Does a 4th jab once you stop holding the button. Sends downward.

What a patriot!

PTM does a salute, which hits his opponent upwards. Decent out of shield option. As a funny addition, you can hold this move to salute for longer. o7

2L / Down Light

The savory taste of sawdust!

A downward scrape. This move is good as a combo starter.

Push Back
66L / Run Light

All that toast will go right to your glutes and thighs

Powdered Toast Man charges at you rear-first. Pretty predictable and unsafe on block.

Jumping/Air Light Attacks

Powdered Toastman!
j5L / Jump Light

PTM ascends into the air at a 45 degree angle. This move is good as an edgeguarding tool, but it's rather unreliable to use as a combo tool due to it's randomness.

Aerial Salute!

Powdered Toast Man salutes while jumping up in the air. This move can be used for ladder combos.

Aerial Powdered Toast Refill

A downwards scrape of toast with a knife. One of Powdered Toast Man's best combo tools. Can also be used as an edgeguarding tool.
