Arkady Gregorivich Rossovich, better known as Omega Red, is a villainous mutant in the Marvel universe and one of Wolverine's major enemies. Story

Arkady Gregorivich Rossovich, better known as Omega Red, is a villainous mutant in the Marvel universe and one of Wolverine's major enemies. Once a mutant agent Omega Red was a failed attempt to create a supersoldier in the vein of Captain America. The Soviet government implanted a retractable carbonadium tentacle within each of Omega Red's arms. The carbonadium implants, while great offensive weapons, slowly poisoned him and he was required to regularly drain the life energy of a person using his "death spore" mutation, or perhaps take small amounts from larger numbers of individuals, in order to temporarily sustain his immune system.

Gameplay

Omega Red is a very fast, very flexible character with an emphasis on air control, stray hits, and poking. A character that excels on reaching where he rightfully shouldn't and having no issue with taking sneaky routes around traditional fights. If you like tossing your opponent around and making them regret underestimating the red menace, with a little practice, Omega Red can give (almost) anyone a run for their money.

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Meter Build: - Omega Red boasts an insane meter build, every normal and every special move letting him build meter, ontop of being able to retract all of his special moves and then canceling the retract into another special move, all with the cherry ontop of being able to steal the opponents super meter.   • Superb Air Game: - Omega Red is a fantastic force in the air. With the threat of coil grabs on very oppressive parts of the screen, a solid anti air game in the form of his Omega Strike, good priority on his jump normals, and a
  • Speed: - Omega Red boasts a good dash, a good walk speed, and a somewhat decent airdash (speed wise) but owns an incredible form of movement in the form of his omega strike, which can put him from fullscreen to half screen in no time at all, even up into the air.
  • Good Endurance: - For a zombie, Omega Red takes 10% less damage than average, leading to him being able to eat stray hits often. not to mention the fact he has the ability to steal life back.
  • Fantastic Range: - His normals and his specials have great reach for a character his size, his Carbonadium coils even reaching full screen and retractable at any time.
  • Burrowing Coil: - A strength good enough to put in its own spot, Omega can use his burrowing coils inorder to snuff any fireballs, smack fullscreen (unprotected) assists, and can even anti air as the hitboxes for the coils are as tall as omega is when he performs it
  • Drain Mechanics: - Omega Red is unique in the fact that whenever he lands a coil grab, he is able to meterlessly drain the opponents health and regenerate his red health while on point, or drain the enemies super meter, potentially depriving them of a match winning hyper combo
  • He Has Lacking Supers. : - Omega Red's supers are very lacking, incredibly limited to actually combo into, near impossible without help or very unique scenarios, and overall not being very great supers in general, leaving him with a drowning mans curse and a desert mans blessing
  • Precise Play: - Omega Reds coils are not very generous in the hitbox department, and while fullscreen they take a while to get there and often you may be forced to retract before they have a chance to hit. Omega Red needs good reads and even better positioning and knowledge to get the most from his kit
  • Lacking Assists: - Omega has decent assists, however they are niche and dont particularly offer much outside of some minor benefit or gimmicks
  • Lack Of Chip: - Omega Red cannot chip the opponent nearly at all, with his slow supers and one hit special moves, Omega desperately appreciates an assist that helps him deal chip damage
  • Bad Defensive Options: - Omega gets eaten alive by hyper fast rushdown characters due to the lack of any invincibility and supers that cannot reasonably be used to punish offense, omega once again, relies on assists to get opponents off of him.
