The mini mastermind owner of the Chum Bucket, now with a mecha suit.

Playstyle

Plankton is a rare "zoner-grappler" archetype. He excels in wreaking havoc on-stage by spilling sauce everywhere, and then ending the stock with a devastating command grab. Plankton also has some of the biggest buttons in the game, and he can easily wall his opponents out with his devastating ledgetrapping.

If you like wreaking havoc wherever you go and being large and in charge, Plankton might be for you!

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Heavy. Plankton has some of the best longetivity of any character in the game due to his weight and recovery mixups.
  • Hits like a truck. Plankton can deal over 50% in a few small interactions if given the chance.
  • Zoning: Plankton can spill sauce all over the stage and even fling it at his opponents, dealing damage to them and making it easier for him to kill them off of a command grab. In addition, he also has several other projectiles at his disposal, a ridiculously big grab hitbox, and several ways of keeping you out of his way.
  • Grappling: Alongside his amazing projectiles, Plankton also has some of the most hard-hitting close-range options in the game, such as his devastating Side Special command grab, his amazing aerial options, and his grappling hook-esque Up Strong. Plankton can just as easily reel you in as fast as he can keep you out.
  • Ledgetrapping: Plankton is extremely dangerous on ledge. He has several ways to wall you out and prevent you from getting back on stage without ever having to get off of it.
  • Excellent character for beginners: Plankton is a great character to play if you are just learning how the game works.
  • Predictable: Plankton's gameplan can be rather linear, and if the opponent knows how to deal with his tricks, he will be quick work. Therefore, a Plankton player must always mix up their options in order to keep their opponent at bay.
  • Big: Perhaps ironically, Plankton is one of the tallest characters (if not the tallest) in the game. This means he is more susceptible to damaging combo routes than most other characters.
  • Slow-ish: Plankton's run speed is rather slow, so he will spend most of the match wavedashing to get around.
  • Not much wiggle room: Plankton is huge and can take up a lot of the stage fairly easily. This means that on smaller stages, he doesn't have much room to run or spill sauce, so you have to be careful on where you land or position yourself.
