The go-getting reporter for Channel 6 News.
Playstyle
Fitting her job as Channel 6's prime reporter, April loves getting in your face with cameras. She has a wide range of equipment to use to smack her opponent's face with, as well as a rolling camera side special to kick around. April's also got a great combo and juggle game in thanks to her good aerials, notably Up Air Light.
April also possesses a ratings meter that builds when she hits her opponent with her equipment. When fully charged, this releases a devastatingly strong attack that can wipe the opponent off the screen in seconds!
If you like being in the opponent's face all day every day, April is ready to report!
Metagame
April is ranked 17th out of 29 on the current tier list, in the A- tier. This is a slight drop compared to her 11th out of 25 placement in the first Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.
April's big strengths lie in her combo game. April's aerials are all very good, with Up Air being a particularly strong juggle tool, making her able to rack up damage fairly easily, and she can summon a rolling camera in Side Special to maintain stage control and neutral. This all ties into her Ratings meter, which she can combo into with relative ease. If done near the edge of the stage, she can take a stock in a matter of seconds.
However, April does have some noticeable flaws. Like her Turtle friends, she has a rather tall frame, making her somewhat easy to combo. She also has a very exploitable recovery, as her Up Special is tied to a timer, so if she is offstage for too long, she might run out of resources and fall to her doom.
April is a somewhat polarizing character in the metagame. Opinions on her started to fluctuate after Patch 1.13, as she received some particularly substantial nerfs to her meter gain. However, in recent times, April is generally considered to be a very solid character, with very strong results at top-level play.
