Introduction
Fatal Fury Special (餓狼伝説SPECIAL in Japan) is the updated version of Fatal Fury 2 for the Neo Geo, doubling the number of playable characters while adding new moves and revamped mechanics. Included in the cast is all boss characters of Fatal Fury 2 as well as favorites from Fatal Fury 1 and even a secret crossover with Art of Fighting's Ryo Sakazaki.
Characterized by its high damage combos, invincible cancellable backdashes and the series' signature lane system, Fatal Fury Special has remained a classic of Japanese arcades, developing a rich competitive history over decades of tournaments. To this day, the FATAL FURY SPECIAL WORLD CUP is held every year at Mikado Game Center.
