In Remix, Dudley is a volatile rushdown character with excellent reward and strong mixup potential. Machinegun Blow is a sort of pseudo-stance move, with the ability to freely cancel into either of Dudley's movement specials on hit, either '''Short Swing''' or '''Duck,''' which each additionally have their own followups. With these tools, Dudley has a wide variety of combo routes he can use, all of which usually dealing exceptionally high meterless damage, making two-touches common.

His mixup potential is further improved by the addition of '''Rose Throw''' as a special move, with the ability to cancel into it out of any normal, as well as whiff-cancelling it into Dudley's other movement specials. Rose Throw can be used as a meaty on hard knockdowns, a disjointed airborne reset tool for nasty crossups, and just about whatever else your mind can come up with - Dudley's mixup game is extremely free-flowing, forcing the opponent to stay on edge at all times. Between a powerful DP for anti-air and wakeup situations and his signature super, '''Corkscrew Cross,''' Dudley is a master of forcing his way into the opponent's space, opening them up, and getting great reward when he does so, before starting the mixup all over again.

Introduction

Dudley gets lost in his own rose garden. After months of staying alive eating roses, he enters a new state of being known as "Dadly". He escapes and becomes the world's greatest dad.

Dudley doesn't have any children.

Dudley is one of the returning members of the original character cast from Street Fighter III, an English boxer who is defined by his class and sense of grace in a fight. In Remix, Dudley is a volatile rushdown character with excellent reward and strong mixup potential. Despite lacking chains, Dudley makes up for it with a uniquely high amount of command normals, with one of them making up the core crux of the character's mixup, that being 6HK, or otherwise known as Dart Shot. Much like in Dudley's other appearances, Dart Shot is an unreactable overhead with the ability to combo afterwards, with followups made even easier in this game due to the fact it's cancellable into his primary combo tool, Machinegun Blow. Machinegun Blow is a sort of pseudo-stance move, with the ability to freely cancel into either of Dudley's movement specials on hit, either Short Swing or Duck, which each additionally have their own followups. With these tools, Dudley has a wide variety of combo routes he can use, all of which usually dealing exceptionally high meterless damage, making two-touches common.

His mixup potential is further improved by the addition of Rose Throw as a special move, with the ability to cancel into it out of any normal, as well as whiff-cancelling it into Dudley's other movement specials. Rose Throw can be used as a meaty on hard knockdowns, a disjointed airborne reset tool for nasty crossups, and just about whatever else your mind can come up with - Dudley's mixup game is extremely free-flowing, forcing the opponent to stay on edge at all times. Between a powerful DP for anti-air and wakeup situations and his signature super, Corkscrew Cross, Dudley is a master of forcing his way into the opponent's space, opening them up, and getting great reward when he does so, before starting the mixup all over again.

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Amazing Damage: Dudley has some of the highest meterless damage in the entire game, easily reaching over 500 damage on a jump-in without spending any resources. His reward on openings is extremely high, and any stray hit could mean the end of a round.
  • Superb Mixups: Dart Shot being unreactable allows Dudley to run the majority of the same offense he did in other games, but with even better reward. Combined with Remix's reset system, the power of Rose Throw, and his strong reward off throw, Dudley is nearly impossible to guess right against on defense, and if he does happen to force your defense open, he'll make you pay for it.
  • Ease of Use: Dudley's rewarding routes are extremely easy to learn, and the core crux of his mixup isn't difficult to run at all, allowing someone to quickly learn his gameplan.
  • Middling Reward on Anti-Air: In a game where jumping at the wrong time can be near-instant death, Dudley's reward on anti-airs is surprisingly lackluster. His combos all mostly get their damage on the ground, so the best reward you'll get without resources is usually a short combo into a hard knockdown.
  • One-Dimensional Neutral: Dudley's game is inherently simplistic, almost to a fault. He doesn't have very many options that can easily disrespect the opponent from far away, and the ones he does have are extremely risky. Even with his anti-fireball tools, he can be boxed out somewhat by passive play.
