Introduction
Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter (also called simply Marvel vs. Street Fighter, abbr. MVS/MSHvsSF/MSHVSF) is the sequel to X-Men vs. Street Fighter and the second game in the Marvel and Capcom crossover saga. It is the fourth fighting video game licensed from Marvel Comics by Capcom. Replaces most of the X-Men characters with characters from the video game Marvel Super Heroes (1995). In an attempt to balance the problems of previous video games, its graphics engine was altered, although the same visual aesthetic was maintained. It first appeared in arcades in 1997, and was converted to Saturn in 1998, and finally to PlayStation in 1999, with quite a few changes to its gameplay.
Why play Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter?
For the longest time, Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter was always overshadowed by its predecessor and successor, XMvsSF and MVC1, while also being considered the black sheep of the series.
Time has been very nice to this game though, and over the years has been reevaluated by players who now see how great this game actually is. This game was the stepping stone that led to the legendary MVC series.
While this game is a bit more restrained than XMvsSF and MVC1, it has its own unique elements and gameplay that helps it stand out from the rest. Not to mention that it has its own unique art style, unique music tracks only to this game, and an announcer that has been deemed the best in the entire franchise.
If you want a game that has elements of both MVC1 and XMvsSF (such as the introduction of assists), definitely consider giving this game a shot, you may be surprised!
