Tier List

READ ME FIRST
The tier lists on this page are subjective in nature, and are the products of their individual authors. You can only trust a tier list as much as you trust its author. Tier lists reflect the understanding on relative character strength at the time that they are written. Metas can develop and characters can change after a tier list is made. Tier lists usually do not account for character difficulty, but that can sometimes be a factor depending on the author. Depending on your goals and how competitive you are, tier lists may or may not be entirely irrelevant.

Please also note that all tier lists on this page are made with reference to revision 2 of the arcade version (ROM version EURO 961004).

Striderzero96's Tier List

This tier list was put together by Striderzero96, an extremely strong American XvSF player who is often regarded as an authority on the game.

God: Storm
Top: Magneto, Cyclops, Chun-Li, Wolverine
Mid: Charlie, Gambit, Rogue, Akuma, Ryu, Sabretooth
OK: Cammy, Zangief, Juggernaut, Ken
Bad: M.Bison, Dhalsim

Legacy Tier Lists

These tier lists represent assessments of the XvSF meta at an earlier point in the game's lifespan. They do not necessarily reflect the current understanding of relative character strength in the game, but can still be useful for tracking how that understanding has developed, and are worth keeping if only for the sake of posterity.
