The button combination is varied by character.

*B+C is to tag in your partner. You can only do this when your tag meter at the top is full and says "CHANGE OK".
*236B+C is your Duplex Attack. This requires both characters to be alive, the tag meter to be full and you need at least one meter. If you land a Duplex, you can follow it up by inputting 236B+C again after your character passes it to the tagged-in character. Some character teams have unique duplex attacks, but most just have generic normal attacks.
*A+B+C+D is to surrender your current character. Surrendering your character gives the remaining life and meter to your other character. It also increases the maximum meter to 5 instead of 3.
