Story

Pepe is an undisciplined schoolboy who always somehow gets into trouble. When moving to South Mexico at age 13, he practiced all kinds of extreme sports and even solo expeditions into the jungle. Upon one of these expeditions, Pepe found an ancient ruin that once belongs to the great Aztec empire that spread all over Mexico long ago. Being curious, Pepe obviously searches the ruin, and inside was an ancient scroll that kept the spirit of Quetzacoatl, the Green Dragon. The spirit bound to this ancient scroll awakened and took possession of Pepe's body. Confused, Pepe returned to his home and began to train under hidden guidance from Quetzacoatl who showed him the ancient Aztec art of fighting that excels in speed. After training, Pepe was guided to head into Sunshine City where an uncle lived. There, he attended high school and easily made lots of friends, such as Pupa and Pau. After the rising power of the Black Dragon, Pepe could sense something wasn't right. Pupa approached Pepe about her brother going missing shortly after this strange feeling of dark power. Pepe agreed to help, and they set off seeking Pupa's brother and the source of the encroaching dark power.

Pepe is an all-rounder who excels in almost everything. He has good offensive options, Neutral options and good defense. If you're looking for a solid character with a handful of good options for any situation, pick Pepe!
Pros Cons
  • The Best Toolset: Pepe has the best toolset. Notably, his safe sweep, safe pressure with light Istak, great high/low mixes with a command grab and good anti-zoning utility with his Quetzalcoatl supers.
  • Wall Hit From Anywhere: Pepe's Heavy "Ariba!" can launch anyone into a wall hit from just about anywhere. This guarantees any BnB is going to be a wall hit.
  • Crouching Opponents Disrupt BnBs: You must be mindful about doing his BnB combos on crouching opponents, his 3B will whiff if you don't cancel it after the first hit.
  • Useless Heavy Specials: Pepe's Heavy specials, excluding his "Ariba!" are inferior compared to the light versions and are typically not used.
