Attacks are represented with the following notation:

The terms are interchangeable, but in most cases, what's stated above will hold true.

Controller Motion Terminology


There are a couple ways to communicate motion inputs, standard notation and numberpad notation. It's useful to understand both methods.
"Forward" and "Backward" refer to the direction your character is facing.
Numberpad inputs as shown here assumes you are standing on the Player 1 side (left side).
When you're on the Player 2 side (the right side), simply reverse directions to get the same input. (Performing a 236 on the left becomes 214 on the right)
