Jumping

Jumping is exactly what it says on the can, and it doesn't take much time to figure out how to do it. Jumping is performed by tilting your joystick to either of the three upward directions. Neutrally upward makes you jump directly up, while behind upward and front upward makes you jump backward and forward respectively. Jumping takes you to the air to use your aerial attacks or to dodge low attacks, but as you can't block while in the air and there are some moves specifically designed to stop aerial approaches, always jumping at your opponent might not be the best strategy.

Super Jumping

Some characters can make a further leap. These characters have the ability to super jump, a technique borrowed from the Vs. series. By swiftly tapping down and up, your character will make a noticeable leap as he jumps. Super jumping allows you to cover more distance and fool your opponent thinking you would jump normally, but it's longer startup and duration before you land makes you slightly more vulnerable if your opponent predicts you're going to super jump.
