The Shoryuken, or Dragon Punch, is a standard move in the Shotokan arts. It first appeared as a move that Ryu and Ken could perform in Street Fighter I. It is a rising dragon uppercut attack which moves slightly forwards. This move eventually became Ken's signature move and Ryu was given a less powerfull version of the attack. It can be performed by most Shotokan warriors and some other arts. It varies in strength, angle of attack, height reached, number of hits, number of uppercuts, number of follow-up uppercuts, and speed.
Variations
- Shin Shoryuken (True Dragon Punch) - Ryu's super-charged version of the move.
- Shinryuken (Divine Dragon Punch) -Ken's super move variation. It goes straight up. Mash the punch and kick buttons for more hits!
