Rabbit/System

From SuperCombo Wiki

Rabbit's system mechanics are somewhat niche, but bear resemblance to other less-popular fighters of its time. The game is primarily centered around the management of Rabbit's install system known as "beast mode."

Chain Combos

Chain combos can be performed by pressing multiple buttons in rapid succession, similar to Vampire Savior's magic series. The order for a chain combo is lp - lk - hp - hk. Additionally, after hp or hk you can input 6 hp or vice versa to extend the combo, but this will not lead to a hard knockdown. A common strategy is to chain combo into sweep for oki and safe beast mode activation. This means that every character has a safe bnb combo that leads to a knockdown.

Beast Mode

Beast mode activation is done by inputting abc on the same frame to activate a characters spirit animal. Activating beast mode takes one bar and only lasts for a certain amount of time. Pressing abc again will do a beast attack that is unique to each character. Beast mode also gives the user special buffs and debuffs for the duration of beast mode. Supers can be used only while in beast mode, but they come at a heavy cost, as super moves heavily drain the beast mode meter, reducing the amount of time that you receive beast mode buffs. Beast mode is a risk-reward system that heavily benefits certain characters, being the primary meta-mechanic of this game.

Universal Overhead

Every character has an overhead activated by pressing either AB or CD, depending on the character. This is a relatively safe and effective mix-up option on most characters.

Throws

Throws are performed with close B or close D. Throws in this game are very powerful, as they cannot be teched.

Short hops

Short hops are performed with tapping your stick up quickly then back to neutral. This technique is the bread and butter to fast offensive play, but is vulnerable to anti air moves and DPs.

Spot Dodge

The characters in this game have a context sensitive spot dodge. This occurs when the player is stand blocking and the opponent inputs a st C or st D. This spot dodge can be used to punish with a throw, jab, or any fast move. Be mindful tho depending on the spacing the spot dodge can be punished or you can't get a punish.
