- Has some of the easiest Light Attack Link Combos in the game, leading into some good chains, 2 in 1's and knockdown situations
- Killshread summon is a versatile multipurpose tool augmenting Donovan in many ways in neutral, combos, defense etc
- Decent mobility through dash

- Has some of the lowest damage in the game, must work harder to build up damage.
- Specials are not very good, all summons have hitboxes making him one large hitbox when active and all do low damage outside of 2 in 1's.
- EX moves must be used cautiously, as they have some of the longest start up and recovery.
- Lacks an air throw which makes him extremely vulnerable in close quarters in the air.
- Tall hurtbox especially when jumping, has the tallest jumping hurtbox in the game which makes him easier to anti air than most characters.
- Issues getting moves to combo from air to ground; Sword Dive is not an overhead and all versions of it are unsafe on hit aside from HK if done very very close to the ground, and none of his lights whiff cancel nor link into other moves and is forced to use JHK for this for purpose instead
- Just doesn't function a majority of the time and has tons of fundamental issues
