Roll With the Punches

Whenever your character is knocked to the ground, you can perform a Roll Recovery. This will cause your character to roll backwards a long distance the instant you hit the ground, allowing you to escape some pressure and gain some space between yourself and your opponent. To perform a Roll Recovery, just perform an input, any input, the instant you hit the ground. This can be a controller direction or any button, including Block. In fact, you can simply roll the controller in circles or mash the buttons to almost guarantee to perform a Roll Recovery.

However, Roll Recoveries do have a short amount of delay at the end of the Roll. However, the vulnerability can only be taken advantage of by attacks that hit low. If you strike the end of a Roll with a low attack, the opponent will get hit and will be unable to block the attack. What this means is that if you are ever knocked down near the corner, don't perform a Roll Recovery as it will leave you vulnerable to Sweep Kicks because you don't end up rolling away from the opponent.
