Meaty

From SuperCombo Wiki

Meaty (or meaty attack) may refer to two different things:

  • an attack that hits on the very first frames of the opponent's wake-up to prevent him from pressing buttons or doing non invincible special moves;
  • an attack that hits on the last active frameof that move to gain the maximum frame advantage for it.

Often the two meanings are used together because players try to have the best frame advantage while hitting the opponent when he can't fight back. Example: Ryu in Street Fighter V has a meaty throw loop in the corner that allows him to continuously grab opponents that choose to quickrise on wake-up by pressing cr. LP/LK after each grab.
