Anyway, EXA Kairi is a cute little headswap with a fireball, uppercut, and a gameplan you've seen before. He sports some unique buttons, strong jump starters, launching confirms, and a few tricky mixups.
Kairi leverages his one-bar Raging Demon and bugged K Throw to run a truly mean mixup game. While EX1's other shotos are staggering sub-par frametraps and zoning, Kairi plays active, agressive, and angry.
The Basics
- Kairi K Throw gives him a free OTG sweep or a similar normal. On big characters he can restand the opponent for a confirm. This glitch means Kairi inherits the most damaging normal throws in the game save for Dictator or the Cycloids.
- In mixup situations, Kairi should OS 6MK hopkick/throw to low crush crouch tech. P Throw, then, is practically worthless. Hopkick confirms into both Kairi's air supers. Very strong.
- Tick demon is criminally underrated. EXA's DHC rules mean Kairi can cancel to demon from divekick or launcher super on block. Nobody ever expects this.
- 6MK being airborne means Kairi lacks the meterless tick demon Akuma can abuse, but demon being one bar gives you plenty of opportunities to sneak it into your strings.
