Introduction

Often regarded as in contention for the strongest character in DR, Devil Jin does it all, as not only is he the most well-rounded Mishima, he's arguably the most well-rounded character in the game, period. Based on the moveset of Jin from the days of Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament, Devil Jin is able to effortlessly control the pace of the match using a combination of solid movement, incredible pokes and powerful space control tools, all of which sets up devastating juggle combos that lead into equally devastating 50/50 mixups between his bevy of powerful safe mids and the almighty Hellsweep, which sets up a full juggle that throws the opponent right back into the blender. Although, perhaps "effortless" is the wrong word to use - as a Mishima, Devil Jin demands precision in all things, from the placement of his attacks right down to their execution. Devil Jin is a character whose incredible power requires a pilot who is equally skilled and dedicated, but if you're willing to bring those things to the character, Devil Jin will reward you handsomely.

T5dr icon dvj.png Devil Jin is a versatile Mishima character with powerful tools for aggression and keepout alike.
Pros Cons
  • Flexible: With incredible pokes, whiff punishment tools and mixup options (including arguably the best command throw in the game!), Devil Jin is able to be played in whatever style best suits his player's preferences.
  • Powerful Pressure: Devil Jin's offensive presence is outstanding - with walls, he has access to powerful wall combos and several consistent ways to access them; without walls, he is still able to score strong okizeme off most hits.
  • High Execution: Devil Jin gets to be good at basically everything, but that comes at a price - playing Devil Jin to his fullest potential requires consistent, clean execution for many of his most vital tools, making him extremely physically demanding.
  • Weak Crushing Options: Arguably the one area where Devil Jin is lacking is in his ability to use the game's Crush system, as his options for both high and low crush attacks are often unrewarding or unreliable compared to many other characters.
