I am primarily a Shoryuken lurker who has been getting back into fighting games since summer 2012. Prior to then, I had not played a fighting game since Soul Calibur II back in 2003. As I started playing fighting games again (my favorites as of now being Persona 4 Arena, Super Street Fighter IV AE, and Tekken Tag Tournament 2), I realized that the amount of information for new players was either limited or scattered about the Internet. There are many videos available for new players, but it can be difficult to find them at times. Other information that may pertain to a specific situation or character in a particular game is a similar case. Wikis exist for fighting games, but tend to lack the vital information that I'm looking for. I believe that the Shoryuken wiki can fill the gap, but the wiki itself needs more details. As a would-be regular user of the wiki and a newbie to the fighting game community, I want to help make the wiki useful to all kinds of players. Much of the helpful information that I find from Shoryuken can be found within the forums, but it is sometimes lost as threads get old or lengthy. Collecting helpful information and guides to fill out the wiki is something I want to help with, because it will help me just as much as it could help everyone else. I am not a professional player by any means, and my intention is to help fill out the wiki with details that other authors may not have time for and simultaneously build up my own knowledge to one day be able to write detailed guides for characters and overall games. I want the Shoryuken wiki to be a valuable resource, because quite honestly, I'm tired of searching the entire Web.
