Key Techniques
JFSR - Just Frame Sky Rocket
Just Frame Sky Rocket (JSFR) is Hwoarang's F,N,DF+4. It's a fast, safe, mid launcher that gives a huge combo and is critical for doing scary mixups with Hwoarang. If there is any directional input after the N except DF (e.g. N,F,DF or N,D,DF), then you don't get it. From RFF, the DF and 4 don't need to be on the same frame. The DF can be held for up to 10 frames before the 4 and it'll still work. It can't be done from a dash or crouch dash, so to do wave dash into JSFR you need to cancel the dash with a sidestep first.
Crouch Dash
A crouch dash (also known as a wavedash) is a technique performed by certain characters by chaining together multiple dashes and crouch dashes. Its main purpose is to approach the opponent while constantly re-aligning with them so they cannot backdash or sidestep out of your pressure. It also gives quick access to crouch dash and while standing moves while also having high crush properties.

Lore
- In Tekken 5, Hwoarang’s story continues to revolve around his fierce rivalry with Jin Kazama. After the events of Tekken 4, Hwoarang becomes obsessed with seeking revenge on Jin, who had defeated him in their previous encounter. This desire for vengeance leads Hwoarang to enter the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5, hoping to settle the score with his rival once and for all.
Hwoarang’s storyline also explores his internal conflict. He struggles with his loyalty to his master, Baek Doo San, and his growing resentment toward Jin, who he believes is responsible for Baek’s presumed death at the hands of the Mishima family. Hwoarang’s desire to avenge his mentor’s death fuels his determination to defeat the Mishima Zaibatsu and Jin.
Despite his aggressive pursuit of revenge, Hwoarang’s journey in *Tekken 5* is marked by personal growth and inner turmoil. His interactions with other characters, particularly Jin, highlight the complexity of his emotions, torn between anger, pride, and the need for closure. However, by the end of the tournament, Hwoarang’s quest for vengeance remains unresolved, setting the stage for further conflicts in future installments of the *Tekken* series.
