First Constable of Sun Do
”As her parents’ firstborn daughter, Li Mei was claimed by the Umgadi, the warrior priestesses who guard Outworld’s royal family. Li Mei’s service began with high expectations. Her early success caught the eye of the Royal family. But it all fell apart when a terrible tragedy unfolded. Li Mei was blamed for this and in the aftermath did the unthinkable: she quit the Umgadi. Friendless and alone, Li Mei needed a new purpose. She joined Sun Do’s constables, the Outworld capital’s rough and tumble police force. Over time, she became their First Constable. Li Mei is glad to be the capital guardian. Still, she hopes one day to redeem herself.”
Li Mei is a Rushdown/Mixup kombatant with Zoning/Setplay capabilities, having projectiles and ranged/advancing specials as well as up-close normals/strings that can pressure the opponent and open them up for kombos (which are easily extended by projectile setups); her safe/plus S21/S12 jab staggers can lead to kombos, while her -3 B2 and +3 B3 also provide her with advancing Mids which grant follow-ups that can knockdown or potentially launch/convert into juggles. Her F4 is a 16f Low with unsafe launch/safe Overhead knockdown options, while F3 is a 28f Overhead dropkick that is active and reaches midscreen with potential to go from neutral to plus on block; the startup of this normal can be cancelled while airborne which allows her to land “empty” or cancel into Air specials. Her 11f anti-air (DB3) and 14f armor (EX BF4) are both fast reversals that can be made safe and/or convert into juggles with Kameo assists. Her launchers/BF1 projectiles are enhanced by setups with Sky Lantern (DB2), which will place an advancing projectile above her that hits airborne/juggled opponents and launches them higher into the air; she can use these setups to convert into juggles from her EX BF1 launch as well as any normal/string or special that places opponents in an airborne state without assists, and can also detonate the lantern with (Air) BF1 to launch a grounded opponent.
