Storm

Stormface.jpg

In a nutshell

Storm is a character with good rush down and decent keepaway, but may need an assist to be truly effective at either. Her normals are a bit odd and slow, but will reward those that learn them. Her Hail Storm super may be the best assist killing super in the game, so calling an assist against Storm is always a risk. Storm's other huge strength is in the chip damage department. Pair her with a meter building assist and you may not have to fight at all. If you want a character that has a large variety of ways to be effective depending on her team, Storm should fit right in.

Apprentice Combos

Strategy

Storm works best with a lot of hyper bar, so it is usually practical to put her 2nd or 3rd in a team. Another reason to let her bring up the rear is that as a DHC partner she can add the full screen and OTG hitting Hail Storm after almost any other hyper for lots of extra damage.

Her Whirlwind assist is great for fighting other zoners because it consumes most other beams and projectiles in the game and will clear a path for your own, or for you to chase after it as a rush down character in relative safety. It is also great against enemy rush down characters when your point is trying to zone because even on block it will shove them back across the screen, buying you some breathing room.

Good assists for Storm include projectiles if you intend to zone with Whirlwind and low hits such as Deadpool's Quick Work if you intend to force unblockable setups with her fast overheads.

Tips and Tricks

  • Tap {{ U.png , U.png + Atk.png }} with Storm for really fast high attacks. This uses her float to cancel her jump on the way up, and drops her back down.
  • Hail Storm does some of the best chip damage in the game. Using 4 of these in X-factor lv3 should kill just about any character from full life.
  • Elemental Rage allows you to DHC glitch into resetting your combo pro-ration and hit-stun degradation when canceled before the last frame into a DHC that does not directly hit the enemy such as Trish's Round Harvest, Zero's Sougenmu, or an intentionally missed Rhino Charge counter-hyper from Wesker that you then follow up with an entirely new combo. You can score this for free after most of her throws for free as well.
