Super Dragon Ball Z has a diverse selection of stages to choose from, which each have their own layouts and quirks for players to contend with. While they don't factor hugely into matchups at all, it's still worth knowing what to expect!
Cell Ring
The ring from the conclusion of the iconic Cell Saga. Wide open space with minimal elevation differences and only four obstacles to contend with.
Eastern Capital
The Eastern Capital after being decimated by an Android attack. Fairly diverse, with multiple defined areas, several obstacles strewn about ranging from debris to trees to small buildings, and small changes in elevation thanks to a large crater in the road on one end of the stage.
Has an evening variant with different lighting, but no major changes.
Enma's Palace
The entrance to the Other World found at the end of Snake Way. Very large stage with lots of open space. The yellow that dominates most of the stage can make some projectile attacks hard to make out (particularly Chi-Chi's projectiles).
Kami's Lookout
The Lookout from which all events on Earth can be observed. Minimal changes in elevation, but a number of obstacles in the form of trees and statues can be found, alongside the entrance to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
If an opponent is knocked off the edge of the Lookout, both players will be sent down to the base of Korin Tower, a medium-sized open ground stage with only a few trees to get in the way of the fight.
King Kai's Planet
Where King Kai lives. A very odd, somewhat claustrophobic stage that feels a lot like fighting on a Super Mario Galaxy level. No walls, but a few obstacles to contend with, including King Kai's house and car.
Planet Namek
Namek in the wake of Lord Frieza's wrath. A wide space strewn with buildings and large platforms, creating many opportunities for players to block the path of projectiles or take evasive action by jumping to a higher elevation to create some breathing room and plan a counterattack.
Wasteland
The Break Wasteland where Gohan was left to fend for himself before the arrival of the Saiyans. An absolutely massive stage with multiple obstacles scattered about, a deep area in the center and a cliff face on either side which make for fairly good retreat destinations.
Has a night time variant with darkened lighting, but no changes otherwise.
World Tournament
The site of the world-famous Tenkaichi Budokai martial arts tournament. A fairly small ring situated above ground level gives way to a short elevation drop, with a medium-height destructible wall surrounding it.
Hyperbolic Time Chamber
A pocket dimension where you can train for a year, and only a day will have passed when you leave. The Hyperbolic Time Chamber is exclusive to training mode -- fairly small, basic circular layout with nothing special going on. The only way to get any obstacles is by turning them on in the training options. Now get to practicing!
