Game terms

Cross-up/Crossup

Can refer to a few things:

  • Jumping attacks which hit behind the character, allowing you to hit someone after you've jumped over them
  • Hopping over/passing through an opponent with special moves after knockdown
  • Walking under the opponent after a reset

Weak Point/Weak Spot

Every character has a weak point on their outfit that takes 3 hits, and will pop off with a funny noise. You can see the weak point's hurtbox on the hitbox images in a lighter red/pink color. Afterwards, any hit to a weak box will deal 1.5x damage.

Dizzy/Stun

The state a character is put into when their weak point is hit 3 times. Unlike in SF2 and other fighters at the time, Dizzy time is a lot longer to begin with, so it's rare you get enough time to mash out of it.
