Soulcalibur VI/Amy/Introduction

From SuperCombo Wiki

Introduction

Amy had always accepted as truth the idea that despair comes from having hope, but if the time ever came in which she needed to embark in search of a light within the darkness, she now had her own symbol of hope: Albion, the sword from her father and mentor.

Amy is a character with fast pokes, solid stance mixup options and excellent potential to steamroll the opponent with her pressure. Featuring a unique system where she must hit rose projectiles to unlock or upgrade moves, she naturally grows stronger over the course of a match.

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Very fast attacks (i10 punish, i12 CE)
  • Fast, unseeable lows
  • Huge snowball potential
  • Solid Lethal Hit variety
  • Weak offensive options and damage without roses
  • Short-range
  • Limited ability to control horizontal movement
  • Few approach options

Unique Mechanic

Rose Perception

Some of Amy's moves involve her throwing roses, either red or white. Each rose that hits builds a point, and once she reaches four points of a color, she receives permanent upgrades based on that color of rose.

Red Rose Perception improves her offensive capabilities by granting her new combo tools, improved strings, and a buff to her command dash stance.

White Rose Perception also provides a few new attacks, but also unlocks some new lethal hits, makes her Critical Edge faster at i12, and speeds up her aGI stances.

Once both White and Red Rose Perception are filled, she enters Purple Rose Perception, which grants the powers of both upgrades, but has the added benefit of turning her aGI stances into Resist Impacts and further empowers her Critical Edge, causing it to refund some meter on hit on top of being i12.
