Hyper Drive Meter
New to The King of Fighters XIII is the Hyper Drive Meter (HD Meter), the thin cyan bar sitting atop of the orange Super Meter gauge.
- The HD Meter is independent of the Super Meter, although both fill when hitting the opponent, having attacks blocked, whiffing special moves, and while getting hit or blocking attacks.
- HD Meter has three uses; using half a bar for Drive Cancels or Super Cancels, using the entire bar to enter Hyper Drive Mode, and using the entire bar (or remaining bar when in Hyper Drive Mode) to use a Neomax.
Because of the several uses for HD meter, managing it for the appropriate situation is a vital part of KOF XIII's metagame.
