Hyperdrive Meter
New to The King of Fighters XIII is the Hyper Drive Meter (HD Meter), the thin cyan bar sitting atop of the orange Super Meter gauge.
- A player's HD Meter is independent of the Super Meter, although both fill when hitting the opponent, having attacks blocked, whiffing special moves, and while getting hit or blocking attacks.
- HD Meter has three uses; using half a bar for Drive Cancels, using the entire bar to enter Hyperdrive Mode, and using the entire bar or remaining bar when in Hyperdrive Mode to use a Neomax.
Because of the many uses for a player's HD meter, managing it for the appropriate situation is a vital part of KOF XIII's metagame.
