Introduction

Musafar is a grappler character with an emphasis on incremental damage. Musafar's most notable attributes are his block strings, trade offs, and juggles. Musafar's block strings are incredible since they're difficult to punish on reaction and deal consistent chip damage. If the opponent guard cancels at the wrong time, then they'll be punished by receiving a good chunk of damage. If Musafar is stuck in a block string, then he can interrupt with his projectile or weak attacks because of their speed. The trade off completely stops the opponent's offense, but Musafar must receive some damage in exchange. Musafar's trade offs and block strings all strive to land his Hard Slam throw because it puts the opponent in a juggle state. In that juggle state, Musafar has the opportunity to stun the opponent or inflict a lot of damage.

Musafar's main weaknesses are his size, speed, and self damaging play style. Due to his large hurtbox, opponents have an improved chance to punish his grounded and aerial approaches. Musafar cannot use an overtly aggressive play style because many of his moves have a slow startup and recovery. Even his back dash has a slow startup and recovery, which further increases his chances to get punished. In addition to these factors, Musafar's emphasis on trading hits takes a toll on himself. If he attempts to interrupt every attack, Musafar risks taking more damage than dealing damage. To succeed with Musafar, he must slowly win smaller interactions by knowing when to interrupt. Through this process, he has multiple opportunities to inflict immense damage.
