Introduction
Rumi is a slow but strong character. Her shinai (bamboo sword) gives her incredible range and power. However, when bare-handed she loses a lot of her special moves and range. The super armor she gains from several of her moves gives her a huge advantage against reckless opponents. She is best suited to a offesive style of play.
Rumi is actually one of the heroines of ONE, a visual novel produced by Tactics in 1998. She is a transfer student in the same school as Kouhei, and is popular with the boys due to her outward gentle nature. However, the only one not fooled by Rumi's act is her "friend" Kouhei...

Specials
Shinai Recovery
Maiden Fang Protruding
- Rumi leans back before running forward with her shinai.
- The A version is faster than the B version, but does less damage. The RF version is similar in speed to the A version, except that an extra attack is added that wires the opponent.
Blood-Red Shinai
- Rumi throws her fiery shinai downward at an angle (if it is executed on the ground, she does a small jump first).
- If it connects, the target is set on fire and is launched for further air combos. All in all, a good special move in its own right for aerial mind games, but do note that you are following up bare-handed until you pick up the shinai.
Blasting Iron Fist
- Rumi pounds the ground with her fist, which generates a small tremor that kicks up debris and knocks the opponent down.
- The B version is stronger than the A version, but slower. Both must be blocked low. The RF version differs considerably from the other two in that it sends a shockwave of debris forward, and that it can be blocked while standing.
Happy Hell Maiden
- Rumi reaches out with both of her hands and tries to grab the opponent. If the grab hits, Rumi tosses the opponent into the air for further options.
- This move is a command throw, so it cannot be blocked.
- The A version is fastest, the C version is slowest.
Maiden Bunt
- During Happy Hell Maiden, Rumi holds her shinai to bunt.
- Does very little damage. Only useful if you need to guarantee a KO against an opponent with very low life (<3%), or if you have a hard time trying to time the other two follow-ups.
Rapture Full Swing
- During Happy Hell Maiden, Rumi swings her shinai as if it was a baseball bat.
- A perfectly timed swing can take off over 30% damage, but the damage quickly drops off if the command is keyed even a few frames too early. Even further off, and you miss entirely. The timing has no visual cues (if you see your opponent falling back onscreen, it's already too late), so spend plenty of time practicing.
Eterny Specials
True Maiden's Fist
- Rumi leans her fist back and quickly dashes toward the opponent with a powerful straight punch.
[TRANSLATION NEEDED] (ちょろちょろすんなぁっ!)
- Rumi pounds the ground with her fist, shaking the entire floor.
- The A and B version pop the opponent up, but the C version stuns the opponent for several seconds instead, leaving them open to almost everything.
- Can be avoided by either blocking low, or by jumping.
Maiden Cherry Blossom
- Rumi does a two-handed throw of her fiery shinai.
- It takes much longer for the shinai to return to earth than the "Blood-Red Shinai" special move. Like "Blood-Red Shinai", it will also launch the opponent.
Final Memory
Big Bang Hitting Method
- During Happy Hell Maiden, Rumi swings her shinai in a huge fiery arc.
[TRANSLATION NEEDED] (耐える乙女の美学)
- Rumi eats some "Kimuchi" ramen. This gives her 10 seconds of constant recoil armor.
- Unfortunately, you cannot block while this is in effect, which can be taken advantage of if Rumi is not careful.
