Target Combos
A few certain characters have Target Combos which simply allow a a Light attack to chain cancel into Heavier normal attack. Players may already be familiar with either Ken or Ibuki's quick Target Combos in Street Fighter and the same principles apply to KOF.
- Terry has one of the most effective Target Combos in the game with his newly-added cr.A xx cr.C series that can be started from a low cr.B. Unlike with other Target Combos in KOFXIII, the player can cancel the combo into Specials or Desperation Moves which gives Terry a powerful and easy hitconfirm.
- Characters like Andy and Mai have two-hit Target Combos that are easy to perform but neither combo off of low attacks nor cancel into Specials or DMs. These tools aren't effective for standard hitconfirms and combos but the player can cancel a Target Combo into Hyperdrive Mode for a combo. In Mai's instance the player can hitconfirm st.B xx st.D into an HD combo which supplements Mai's general lack of hitconfirming options.
