Introduction
Support Pokemon are assists that can be called upon during a match to help out the player in different ways.
Support Pokemon come in sets of two that are chosen before the round starts. A player is not locked to one Support Pokemon the entire match. They're able to swap to the other Support Pokemon in the set between each round.
Support Pokemon fall into three different types:
- Attack: Throws out an attack that deals damage and/or starts a combo.
- Disrupt: Pushes back the opponent by using a defensive/reversal attack.
- Enhance: Grants the user a buff, Synergy, heals recoverable HP, etc.
Each Support Pokemon requires time to charge before they can be called. These charge times vary for each Support Pokemon and range from 20 to 50 seconds. Charge times for certain Support Pokemon change after the first use. For example, Litten requires 20 seconds to fully charge for Its first call. Afterwards, it now requires 30 seconds to charge any further calls.
Calling a Support Pokemon comes out on frame 5. Because of this, Support calls can be interrupted if hit during this time.
Certain Support Pokemon grant counter armor or invincibility on frame 1 upon calling them.
