- A Few Stances. Xiaoyu has about 3 stances total, however she can get away with only using Art of Phoenix and Rain Dance (BT) So while she has a few stances there aren't many and are relatively easy to learn.
- Effective Punishment. Xiaoyu can quickly punish mistakes with strong, fast moves.
- Great Okizeme. Xiaoyu’s wake-up options allow for strong pressure on knocked-down opponents.
- Unique Playstyles. Her light and nimble nature appeals to players who like speed and complexity.

- Low Damage. Xiaoyu's damage output is generally lower compared to other characters.
- Limited Range. Most of her moves are better at close or mid-range, leaving her ineffective at long-range combat.
- Predictability. Experienced players can more easily read and punish her most common attacks.
- Lacking Wall Carry. She doesn't excel at pushing opponents toward the wall like others in the cast.
- Struggles against top tiers. In High-level play she lacks tools to consistently deal with top-tier opponents such as Bob, Steve, and Devil Jin.
