Common Form Factors:
Input devices can come in many forms and deciding which one to choose is a personal decision, based on what is comfortable for your body.

Gamepads are the most common form factor by virtue of coming stock with nearly every console ever made.
Examples include:
- Xbox Wireless Controller
- Dualshock 1, 2, 3, 4
- Dualsense
- Dualsense Edge

All-Button Controller (AKA Hit Box, Leverless, Stickless)
Controllers that forgo the arcade joystick for additional buttons for movement as well as buttons for other inputs
Traditional All-Button Controller
All-Button Controllers that use traditional arcade buttons rather than keyboard switch based buttons without a body.
Low Profile All-Button Controller
All-Button Controllers that forgo traditional arcade buttons for keyboard switches often directly on a PCB or wired directly to the control board in order to make the whole controller much thinner than what traditional arcade buttons allow for.
Examples:
- Snack Box Micro
- MPress and MPress Nano
- Flatbox
WASD-Style All-Button (AKA Mix Box)
A specific layout for all-button controllers that, rather than placing the Up input where a space bar would be located a keyboard, the Up Input is located above the Down button.
Rectangle (Platform Fighter Specific)
All-Button Controller specifically designed for Platform fighters. They often include buttons for that map to both left and right analog sticks with modifier buttons to adjust the specific values on each axis.
Hybrid Controller
These controllers have combinations of arcade joystick, analog thumbsticks, and buttons for directional inputs.
