In Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Gambit is a tricky and wildly fun character with an emphasis on good spacing and zoning with his normals and his Kinetic Card and Trick Card specials. Gambit has decent mobility, with a good ground dash and specials that allow him to jump off of the wall for mixups. His card specials have genuinely good uses for controlling the space, Kinetic Card for ground control and Trick Card for air control. Gambit also a great team player. He has a fantastic assist in his (alpha) assist, acting as a pseudo-capture state and allowing for some conversions and setups that would otherwise be impossible. He also has a relatively safe DHC in his Cajun Explosion super, and a fantastic damage DHC with his Royal Flush super.

Gambit is not without flaws though. His universal mobility is a little lacking, with his air mobility being a notable weak point. His defense is also a little lacking, with no invincible move of any kind. Lastly, while he's decent, there are plenty of characters who do what he does, just better. Regardless, Gambit is one of the most memorable and flashy characters in Marvel 2, and certainly worth a shot. If you like throwing cards, nice normals, and the best damn cape animation in the business, then try your luck with Gambit.
