Hilde has two unique mechanics: Her charge moves and her regalia. Her charge moves are notated by C, for charge, A or B, for the corresponding button, and 4, 5, or 6, for the direction to press after releasing the button. While Rising/Full Crouch charge moves are unique and ignore directional inputs. She must hold down her A or B button for at least one second and then release to perform her charge moves. If she holds the button down for at least 30 seconds, the 4 version goes from a guard break to an unblockable and gains a significant amount of damage. Her regalia states turn her sword and spear orange and blue respectively. Whether or not she has regalia can also be seen by the icons under her health bar. She gains regalia primarily by hitting with a charge move, but there are also other moves that can gain regalia. If she were to gain a regalia that she already has, she instead gains a chunk of meter. Regalia can be cashed in by using specific regalia only moves.
==== Regalia Arts ====
Hilde has access to a powerup mechanic called Regalia Arts, separated by her sword and her spear. The Regalia states are primarily gained by landing a hit with a negative edge move for that respective weapon. When powered up by a Regalia, her sword will glow reddish-orange, and her spear will glow blue: this will also be indicated by her unique UI element. Gaining a Regalia while already powered up instead grants a chunk of meter. Regalia can be spent by performing Regalia Arts, attacks only accessible in the respective Regalia states.

==== Charge ====
Being the only charge character in the game, Hilde has access to charge attacks on both the A and B buttons. The A or B button must be held for at least one second, then released to perform her charge attacks. If either button is held for at least 30 seconds, the cA4/cB4 versions become unblockable and gain a significant damage increase.

  • Middling Soul Charge
  • Quicker punishes are centered around execution

Unique Mechanics

Regalia Arts

Hilde has access to a powerup mechanic called Regalia Arts, separated by her sword and her spear. The Regalia states are primarily gained by landing a hit with a negative edge move for that respective weapon. When powered up by a Regalia, her sword will glow reddish-orange, and her spear will glow blue: this will also be indicated by her unique UI element. Gaining a Regalia while already powered up instead grants a chunk of meter. Regalia can be spent by performing Regalia Arts, attacks only accessible in the respective Regalia states.

Charge

Being the only charge character in the game, Hilde has access to charge attacks on both the A and B buttons. The A or B button must be held for at least one second, then released to perform her charge attacks. If either button is held for at least 30 seconds, the cA4/cB4 versions become unblockable and gain a significant damage increase.
