The King of Fighters 2000 continues to use the refined core mechanics that the KOF series has iterated on since KOF96, while also expanding on the Striker system introduced in KOF99. Strikers in KOF2000 are similar to assists in games like the Marvel vs. Capcom series and Dragon Ball FighterZ, allowing you to call in an additional character to perform a single attack for the purposes of combo extension, pressure, space control, or many other things.
