Introduction

Scorpion is a kameo for players who are absolutely confident in their own neutral. For much of the match, you are entirely on your own - his purpose is to turn the little openings into big openings, not to give you the openings in the first place. For those who don't struggle to find that initial hit, and for those who can play exceptional, non-kameo reliant neutral, Scorpion gives you fantastic damage, flashy combos, and setups.

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Easy Bounce Pickups: Scorpion is the easiest kameo in the game for midair pickups, requiring much less stringent timing than his alternatives.
  • (Mostly) Safe Single Hit Confirms: With Hell Blades, the Scorpion kameo can allow characters to confirm off of crucial single-hit normals, like Shao's B1 and B3.
  • Highly Armored Escape: Fighters like Raiden and Kenshi are fantastic at armor breaking, and can apply smothering situations on oki that cannot be beaten with an armored getup. Scorpion Spear Pull has enough hits of armor to get the main fighter out of the oki situation, allowing them to try and gain a foothold in neutral again.
  • Body Blocking: Tremor and Shujinko remain the undisputed kings of the projectile-blocking kameos, but Scorpion can do an admirable job as well, appearing instantly at the chosen distance.
  • Hellfire Returns: Scorpion's unblockable proximity blast is fantastic for securing round end situations, entirely ignoring last breath and inflicting a DOT aura on the main fighter.
  • No Pressure Or Mix By Himself At All: Scorpion can strengthen a main fighter's existing pressure and mix by improving the reward for opening them up, but it's on them - until they find the hit, Scorpion will not help them at all in a pressure situation. In a game where a single kameo can give any character devastating pressure and unreactable mixups, Scorpion is surprisingly honest.
